Established in 1958 in Ahmedabad, India, SMEW
was the first Indian entity to develop mechanical assembly winding
machines indigenously. Since then, we have retained our focus on
textile winding sector and have introduced numerous technological
improvements and new products with a view to reduce power and labour
costs and increase production volumes and quality. In 2000, we were
again the first Indian entity to indigenously develop textile winding
machines with winding drums coupled onto the winding motors. Our
recent Indian customers include some of the biggest Indian textile
companies such as Arvind Mills Ltd., Madura Coats Ltd., Aditya Birla
Group, Suryalata Spg. Mills Ltd, etc.
Since June 2005, we have forged an exclusive technological alliance
with TALLERES FILCONO, S.L., an innovative company based in Catalunya,
Spain to provide us their breadth and depth of technical and manufacturing
expertise in textile technologies. Given the cutting edge technology
of TALLERES FILCONO, S.L., and our low cost manufacturing base in
India, our vision is to continue providing leading innovations to
our customers in the textile sector at lowest possible costs.
New Manufacturing facility
In order to meet increasing demands of our customers and decrease
delivery period, we have set up a new and modern manufacturing facility
in Santej, Ahmedabad in May 2005. The new facility is now fully
operational.
Technology
Since the year 2000, our customers required us to develop machines
with higher production, lower manpower and lower power costs. As
a result, for the first time in India, we successfully developed
Winding Machines with Winding Drum directly coupled onto the winding
motor. This has resulted into significant advantages such as:
| •
|
Higher speeds due to concept
of individual motor for every spindle. |
| • |
Higher production resulting into lower labour cost. |
| •
|
Better space utilization as due to higher
production per spindle; space requirement stands reduced. |
| • |
Due to the winding drum being directly fitted onto the motor
shaft there is minimal power loss resulting into power savings
in comparison to other machines. |
| •
|
Due to complete integrated PLC based control
systems, yarn length accuracy is higher than conventional machines. |
| • |
Straight yarn path with all yarn touching parts made of ceramic
result into lower yarn abrasions inspite of higher speeds compared
to conventional machines. |
